Metal Finishing – Lissmac SBM-XL 1500

Kloeckner Metals carries the Lissmac SBM-XL 1500. The Lissmac SBM-XL 1500 machine is able to clean parts very effectively for both plasma and oxy fuel burner parts. There is a two-stage cleaning system. In the first part, it deslags the parts and then goes into the second stage with sanding belts and sanding pads that take the edges of the corners to smooth out the part.  The LISSMAC Machine makes cleaning up a lot faster and simpler to get the parts cleaned up for painting, processing, and welding.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the Lissmac SBM-XL 1500?

    Answer:

The Lissmac SBM-XL 1500 is capable of processing sheet metal parts up to a maximum thickness of 80mm. However, the specific thickness of sheet metal that can be processed by the machine may depend on various factors, such as the type and hardness of the metal being processed, the type of abrasive belt or brush being used, and the desired surface finish.

It is important to note that while the SBM-XL 1500 can handle thick sheet metal, the machine may not be the best option for very thin materials, as the abrasive belts and brushes may cause excessive material removal or damage to the part. In general, the machine is most effective for processing sheet metal parts with a thickness between 2mm and 80mm.

Overall, the it is a versatile machine that can handle a wide range of sheet metal thicknesses, making it suitable for a variety of industrial applications. However, the specific thickness of sheet metal that can be processed by the machine should be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, taking into consideration the specific properties of the metal and the desired surface finish.

  • What metals can be processed by the Lissmac SBM-XL 1500?

    Answer:

The Lissmac SBM-XL 1500 can process a wide range of metals, including aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel. The specific metal that can be processed may depend on various factors, such as the thickness of the metal, the type of abrasive belt or brush being used, and the desired surface finish.

    • Aluminum: The SBM-XL 1500 can process aluminum sheet metal with high precision and quality. Aluminum is commonly used in the automotive, aerospace, and electronics industries due to its lightweight, durability, and corrosion resistance.
    • Stainless Steel: The machine can also process stainless steel, a popular metal for industrial and commercial applications due to its strength, corrosion resistance, and aesthetic appeal. Stainless steel is commonly used in the medical, food processing, and architectural industries.
    • Carbon Steel: The machine can also process carbon steel, a strong and durable metal commonly used in construction, transportation, and industrial applications.

The specific abrasive belts and brushes used will depend on the type of metal being processed, as well as the desired surface finish. Overall, the Lissmac SBM-XL 1500 is a versatile machine that can handle a wide range of metals and materials, making it suitable for a variety of industrial and commercial applications.
