General Info About Aluminum 3105

The Aluminum 3105 has 98% pure Aluminum with just some additions for improvement of strength. This alloy can’t be hardened by heat treatment. It has excellent weldability, formability, and corrosion resistance.

  • Advantages/Disadvantages

    The Aluminum 3105 has excellent corrosion resistance and formability. On the other hand, it is not heat-treatable.

  • Industries

    Typically, the Aluminum 3105 is used for the manufacturing of residential siding, rain carrying goods, and mobile homes.

  • Machining

    The aluminum 3105 is okay in machinability. The use of oil lubricants is recommended.

  • Welding

    The Aluminum 3105 has excellent weldability.

  • Heat Treatment

    The Aluminum 3105 is not heat-treatable except for annealing during cold welding.
