Kloeckner Metals sells 3105 aluminum sheet, a 98% aluminum alloy with minor additions for improved strength. Contact us today for a quote.
3105 aluminum sheet is 98% pure aluminum with the addition of specific alloys for strength improvement. This alloy can’t be hardened by heat treatment. It has excellent weldability, formability, and corrosion resistance.
It has excellent corrosion resistance and formability. On the other hand, it is not heat-treatable.
Typically, this aluminum grade is used for the manufacturing of residential siding, rain carrying goods, and mobile homes.
The use of oil lubricants is recommended when machining this aluminum grade.
It has excellent weldability.
It is not heat-treatable except for annealing during cold welding.

ANSWER:
There are a couple differences between 3003 H14 and 3105 H24. One of them is the Brinell Hardness; 3003 H14 has 42 BHN and 3105 H24 has 47 BHN. Another difference is the Fatigue Strength; 3003 H14 has only 60 MPa, whereas 3105 H24 has 74 MPa. In the alloy composition, 3003 H14 contains more Magnesium than 3105 H24. But 3105 H24 contains a little bit of Titanium, Chromium and Copper that 3003 H14 does not have.
ANSWER:
3105 H24 aluminum has a yield strength of 152 MPa and ultimate tensile strength of 179 MPa.
ANSWER:
3105 H14 aluminum has a yield strength of 152 MPa and a tensile strength of 172 MPa.
ANSWER:
3105 painted aluminum sheet is an alloy that contains 1.2% manganese to increase the strength over pure aluminum. Painted aluminum sheet is specifically designed so that it offers a hard, abrasive resistance coat, but also gives alloy flexibility for forming and fabricating. 3105 painted aluminum is often used for sign making, mobile homes, residential siding, and in sheet metal work.
