    The construction industry is a significant sector of the United States economy, providing employment and infrastructure for communities across the country. According to the US Census Bureau, the total value of construction put in place in the United States in 2020 was approximately $1.4 trillion.

    In terms of employment, the industry is one of the largest employers in the United States. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that the industry employed approximately 7.5 million people in March 2021. This accounted for around 4.3% of the total US workforce.
