I love a lot of things about working for Kloeckner Metals. The progressiveness of our thought process and how we attack the market, the willingness to pursue where really no one has gone before in our industry, the open-mindedness to listening to others’ ideas, and to creating a culture that says that we are more concerned about our team than individuals. It has created an environment that’s welcoming and family-oriented. It’s created an environment that’s very stable. People have been here for a long time, and their tenure speaks to their level of fulfillment.

Kloeckner has been incredibly supportive with the development of me as a personal manager. Several of us were fortunate enough to participate in the strategic management training program at Washington University in St. Louis. The exposure was enormous and it has allowed me to think differently as I approach our everyday business in coming back to Kloeckner. But not only am I blessed because I have performers that are on our team, but I have people that I enjoy truly being around, not just in a work setting but in a personal setting, and I take those people as my friends and my core friends for life.

It’s so important to have a non-tiered or non-structured, open relationship with every member of this organization because that is the environment that we try to create here. We’re not concerned about titles. We’re not concerned about classification. We’re concerned about getting the job done and having a fulfilled career.
