The world is grappling with an issue of enormous scale and human impact, and our hearts go out to all who have been affected by the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19).

At Kloeckner, we believe it is our role and responsibility during this time to prioritize these things: the health and well-being of our employees, our business partners, and our community while also playing a constructive role in supporting local health officials and government leaders as they work to contain the virus. Please be assured we are working to mitigate the risk of infection for all Kloeckner employees and to maintain operations in order to service our customers and have the following protocols in place:

  • We continue to follow CDC guidance for businesses and employers.
  • Currently, we have disinfectant cleaning being performed between shifts and at the end of each work day.
  • We have eliminated overlapping shifts.
  • Any affected employee will be sent to doctor/hospital and quarantined for at least 14 days.
  • That current shift will be suspended and those employees sent home.
  • We will contact the appropriate public health officials.
  • We will have the facility professionally cleaned and disinfected prior to letting anyone into the facility.
  • We will advise the facility that someone at the location has contracted the virus.
  • If a 2nd shift is scheduled, they will come in once they are given the “all-clear” from management.
  • The 1st shift will resume normal hours the following day.
  • In the event that the entire facility must remain closed for an extended period, the closest producing location for that product will pick up the production demand for customers accordingly and sales will communicate with the customer regularly for updates.
  • Office staff are equipped and prepared to work remotely as required.
  • We continue to monitor our supply chains closely and have determined no significant risks at this time.

All Kloeckner employees are taking personal responsibility by:

  1. Self-Reporting.
  2. Cleaning their hands often.
  3. Maintaining social distancing.
  4. Staying home if they are sick.
  5. Covering coughs and sneezes.
  6. Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces daily.
  7. Suspending all business travel as well as participation at conferences or other large gatherings.

Kloeckner is continuing to monitor developments daily surrounding the spread of the virus. We will take all appropriate steps to protect everyone. The Executive Team has created a “Crisis Management Team” and is meeting/communicating daily and weekly with action plans for dealing with COVID-19.

While this pandemic is a challenge that we will have to manage for the foreseeable future, it is extremely important that we maintain a safe and healthy workplace and to continue to service our customers with excellence.

Sincerely,

John Ganem
CEO
