Kloeckner, a producer and distributor of sheet metal products in the U.S., has invested $11.3 million to expand its Greenville County facility at 1 White Horse Road and create 19 jobs.

Georgia-based Kloeckner Metals Corp. has announced it will open its expanded Greenville County plant on Monday, Oct. 16.

Kloeckner, a producer and distributor of sheet metal products in the U.S., announced in July its plan to invest $11.3 million to expand its facility at 1 White Horse Road and create 19 jobs.

The company said it has added a 50,000-square-foot bay with 43-ton cranes and a new highly automated slitting line fully capable of processing advanced high strength steels and aluminum.

An open house will be held at 2 p.m. at the facility.

Kurt Dallas, executive vice president for cable and connectivity systems at AFL and chairman of the S.C. Manufacturers Alliance, is anticipated to be at the event.

An affiliate of Germany-based Klöckner & Co., Kloekner serves more than 8,000 metalworking businesses in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Canada.

The company ships carbon and nonferrous metals from inventories stocked in 50 locations throughout North America and utilizes state-of-the-art processing equipment.

The state’s Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved job development credits for the project. A $100,000 Set Aside grant was awarded to Greenville County to assist with costs of the site preparation.

Kloekner said it will begin hiring for the new positions in 2018. It encouraged job seekers to visit its careers page online.
