Kloeckner Builds North America

How Is Kloeckner Metals Building North America?

05.19.2025

What does it really mean to “build” North America? For us at Kloeckner Metals, it’s more than steel and supply chains. It’s about enabling the systems that power homes, move freight, grow food, and connect people.

From the steel in towering skyscrapers to the cores inside transformers and the frames of solar energy systems, our metals and people are at the foundation of modern infrastructure and innovation.

We’re proud to be part of that story. Here’s how we’re helping build what’s next.

Shaping What’s Next

Kloeckner Materials That Power Progress

With a portfolio of over 190,000 products, Kloeckner offers carbon steel, stainless, and aluminum to meet the exacting needs of North America’s most critical sectors.

These metals form countless products you encounter every day. The refrigerator in your kitchen. The car in your driveway. The HVAC system in your office. The appliances that power your homes.

They’re also behind the scenes in larger systems like wind turbines, electrical panels, solar racking, and grain silos. Whether it’s a structural beam in a new hospital or a chassis for a pickup truck, chances are Kloeckner materials are involved.

Inventory Where the Work Happens

Our vast inventory is only part of the equation. With service centers strategically located across the U.S. and Mexico, we stock materials close to customer operations. That means shorter lead times, fewer logistics headaches, and the ability to adapt quickly to shifting production schedules.

When a manufacturer needs coated carbon steel to make energy-efficient water heaters or metal casings for stoves, our branches have the inventory ready — cut to size and delivered when and where it’s needed.

Beyond Distribution: Full-Service Metals Solutions

Kloeckner More Than a Metals Distributor

Of course, having material in place is only one part of the equation. Beyond distribution, Kloeckner provides a wide range of value-added processing services that turn raw materials into ready-to-use components. Precision laser and plasma cutting, roll forming, welding, press braking, and more enable our customers to move faster and produce more with fewer steps.

For manufacturers, this means fewer handoffs, shorter lead times, and less dependence on outside vendors. A structural beam can arrive pre-formed and cut to spec. A coil of aluminum can be slit, blanked, and packaged for just-in-time delivery.

And as customer needs grow more complex, our ability to integrate materials and processing is exactly what positions us to progress alongside them.

Built to Evolve

As industries evolve, so do we. Our latest investments reflect a strong commitment to high-growth sectors like renewable energy, electrification, and automation.

We’re expanding our capabilities with a 264,000 sq. ft. facility in Monterrey, Mexico, focused on electrical steel slitting and transformer core fabrication. Our investment in transformer core fabrication supports the infrastructure behind electric vehicle charging stations, smart thermostats, and LED lighting systems — everyday technologies that rely on consistent, efficient power.

We’ve also welcomed Haley Tool & Stamping to the Kloeckner family, strengthening our capabilities in precision metal stamping and tooling operations. With Haley’s expertise, we’re able to support customers with high-volume, high-consistency stamped parts, especially in sectors like appliances, automotive, and industrial equipment.

These expansions aren’t just about scale; they’re about strategy. We’re positioning ourselves closer to the industries we serve with the capabilities they’ll need tomorrow.

The People Building North America

The People Behind Kloeckner's Success

Behind everyday essentials like dishwashers, tractors, ovens, and elevators, there’s often a Kloeckner touch — crafted by someone who takes pride in their work, their team, and the impact they make.

At Kloeckner Metals, our 3,000+ employees are the driving force behind everything we deliver. They bring the skill, passion, and discipline it takes to serve complex industries day in and day out. Whether it’s welding components for heavy equipment, troubleshooting logistics for a national account, or maintaining the efficiency of a cut-to-length line, our people make it happen.

We’re not a one-size-fits-all operation, and neither are our teams. Every Kloeckner branch is staffed by people who understand the unique needs of their local markets and customers. Across Kloeckner, you’ll find an exceptional team of seasoned fabricators, certified welders, quality managers, technical sales professionals, and more.

We’ve built deep expertise at every level of our organization. We back that with training, development programs, and knowledge sharing across our network because building North America starts with building strong, capable teams.

A Culture of Safety and Accountability

In an industry where precision and safety go hand in hand, our people set the standard. Safety isn’t a checklist. It guides every decision on our shop floors and in our offices. Through regular training, safety committees, and employee-led initiatives, we’re continuously improving how we work.

This culture of accountability also translates into the relationships we build with customers. Our teams take ownership of the job, the timeline, and the outcome. When challenges arise, we don’t point fingers; we find solutions.

Let’s Build Together

Kloeckner Let's Build Together

Let’s build together.
