Equipment Spotlight: Tanaka LMRV TF6000

Kloeckner Metals is one of the largest metal distributors in the world. We’re very large in the United States. We have locations to service everything from long products, flat roll products, aluminum, and stainless.

A cool tool we have they’re going to be a six kilowatt Tanaka plate gantry laser. The big highlight on this big plate laser is that it can cut the one-inch material which is larger than our typical laser that you’d see and other service centers. The size bed is going to be 14 feet by 636 inches. It’s going to give us all the flexibility as far as cutting long part on the laser. Our typical tolerance on our plate laser is going to be + or – 10 thousandths.

The parts going to be precise, look great and they’re gonna have a lot less cleanup on them. You know when you’re dealing with the military or truck and trailer industries precision parts is critical. You know when dealing with customers if they’re gonna be buying steel from us as a service center, they’re typically always gonna be doing some other type of value-added service to that piece of steel whether it’s burn, laser cutting, drilling, or forming. So by adding these machines to our arsenal it makes it a one-stop shop.
