Kloeckner Metals sells 6063 aluminum pipe, a popular heat treatable, corrosion resistant extruded product ideal for anodizing. Contact us today for a quote.

This is one of the most popular extruded aluminum product grades. It is excellent for anodizing, has good corrosion resistance, good weldability, and good strength-to-weight ratio.
6063 aluminum is a lightweight extrusion alloy. While high wear applications and critical support applications are not recommended for this grade, it is easily anodized which gives it excellent corrosion resistance.
This grade is seen across a wide range of industries, including the construction, architectural, building products, home goods, irrigation, appliance, marine, aerospace, and automotive industries.
6063 aluminum pipes are good for air cylinders, bus conductors, and any architectural fabrication projects requiring both excellent corrosion resistance and a good strength-to-weight ratio.
It has fair machinability.
It has good weldability.
It is heat treatable.

ANSWER:
Yes, aluminum pipes are an extruded product. Of the 6000 aluminum series, 6063 aluminum is considered excellent for extruded aluminum. Pipes are a hollow extruded aluminum and are not intended for weight bearing or high wear applications. Rather, this grade is best in supportive structural applications where strength is not critical.
ANSWER:
It is primarily alloyed with magnesium and silicon.
