Kloeckner Metals Corporation, one of the largest producer-independent distributors of steel and metal products in the U.S. (and an AISC member), opened the doors to its newly expanded Greenville, S.C., plant yesterday. The addition encompasses a 50,000-sq.-ft bay with 43-ton cranes and a new, highly automated slitting line for processing advanced high-strength steels and aluminum.
Kloeckner Metals is investing over $11 million in the expansion, which will create 19 jobs. Hiring for these positions will begin in early 2018, and those interested should visit the company’s career page.
The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to this project. A $100,000 Set Aside grant was also awarded to Greenville County to assist with the costs of site preparation
Kloeckner Metals hosted an open house and tour of the new facility yesterday. Kurt Dallas, chairman of the South Carolina Manufacturing Alliance (SCMA), attended the event. See a video from the opening on the company’s Facebook page, here.
